You may also email me at drjoe.rhinewine@yahoo.com. When we speak on the phone, I will ask you some questions about what led you to seek therapy at this time (I might even use that exact phrase!) This will allow us to figure out whether your general concerns are of the kind that I treat in my practice, as well as provide you an opportunity to get an initial sense of me, and whether you would be likely to feel comfortable talking with me. I also will ask about your insurance coverage, as it is important from the outset to figure out whether your insurance is likely to cover therapy with me. The first session is called an intake or initial evaluation, and lasts a full hour. I will request that you come 30 minutes early to the session in order to read and complete paperwork that is important to starting therapy, including descriptions of my policies, filling out insurance information and background data, and making a brief assessment of your presenting concerns. The fee for the 60-minute initial evaluation is $200. The fee for a 45-minute individual, adult therapy session is $150. The fee for a 45-minute family or couples session is $170. All payments or insurance copayments are due at the start of the session. Currently, I am a preferred provider for Regence BlueCross BlueShield, Pacific Source/Reliant and ODS/Cascade insurance plans. Other insurance or managed care companies often cover part of my fees, but in such cases, you will need to pay me in full and I will supply you with a receipt in order to be reimbursed by the insurance company.
