Psychological testing can serve a range of purposes, including:

  • Cognitive testing for children and adolescents to help inform educational plans (IEPs)


  • Diagnostic testing to assist in determining psychiatric diagnosis and recommended course of treatment


  • Personality testing as an aid to personal growth and self-fulfillment

While psychological testing is not magic, and differs in many ways from medical testing, it can be a powerful tool in determining what will be helpful for a given individual, or whether one qualifies for a given professional position. Personality testing can also offer a valuable "mirror" for those who wish to understand themselves better and have not gotten satisfactory answers to their questions previously.

If you have been recommended to get testing for yourself or your child, please contact me and we can discuss what kind of testing may be appropriate for you. In some cases I may refer you to another psychologist who specializes in the area of testing you need. For example, I do not do evaluations that are connected with civil or criminal court proceedings, but can make referrals to qualified individuals for such purposes.
